The Latvian Ambassador to Estonia, Kristīne Našeniece, receives credentials

On 16 August 2022, in an official ceremony in Riga Castle, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, presented credentials to the next Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia the Republic of Estonia, Kristīne Našeniece.

Kristīne Našeniece began working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000. During her career, she has served at the European Union Policy Division and the Permanent Representation of Latvia to the European Union. From 2011 to 2018, Kristīne Našeniece was Director of the European Union Coordination and Policies Department, and from 2018 till present, the Ambassador of Latvia to Finland.

On several occasions, Kristīne Našeniece has received certificates of commendation and appreciation for her distinguished performance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cabinet; she has also been made Commander of the Order of the White Rose of Finland.

The Ambassador holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philology from the University of Latvia. She speaks English, French and Russian.

In the present posting, Kristīne Našeniece succeeds Raimonds Jansons, who had been the Ambassador of Latvia to Estonia since 2017.
