Grant competition announced for projects in support of civil society in Belarus in 2021

In continued support for the civil society of Belarus, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is launching a grant project competition “Development Cooperation Projects to Support Civil Society in Belarus”.

The competition is intended for rendering immediate assistance to persons who have been affected by the violence of Belarusian authorities and restrictions placed on freedoms, as well as providing support for the development of civil society, promotion of democratic participation and strengthening of media freedom.

Associations and foundations registered in the Republic of Latvia are welcome to apply for participation in the competition. 

The total funding made available for the projects is EUR 120,000 EUR. One development cooperation grant project can receive from 15,000 to 40,000 EUR in funding.

Applications must be submitted electronically by 23:59 on 15 February. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be opened.

Information on winners will be published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and sent to all the applicants.
