Latvia’s Ambassador Agnese Kalniņa presents her credentials to the President of Montenegro

On 19 July 2021 in Cetinja, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia, Agnese Kalniņa, presented her credentials to the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović.  

The accreditation ceremony was followed by a short discussion with the President on political, economic and security issues which are part of the bilateral dialogue between the two countries. The President expressed interest as well in Latvia’s success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the context of the accreditation visit, Agnese Kalniņa, Latvia’s new Ambassador to Montenegro, met also with the Foreign Minister of Montenegro, Mr. Đorđe Radulović; the President of Montenegro’s Parliament, Mr. Aleksa Bečić; Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Čedomir Fuštić; and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, Ms. Oana-Cristina Popa.

In the meetings with officials from Montenegro, Latvia’s Ambassador reaffirmed Latvia’s support for Montenegro’s integration into the European Union and expressed gratitude and appreciation for Montenegro’s contributions to international security in the NATO framework.

 

The Ambassador of Latvia to Montenegro, Agnese Kalniņa, resides in Budapest, Hungary.
