Latvian Ambassador to Finland, Dace Treija-Masī, receives credentials from the President of Latvia

On 13 July 2022, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, presented credentials to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Finland, Dace Treija-Masī.

Dace Treija-Masī began her diplomatic career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. She has headed the Information Department, the Asia and Africa Division and the European Union Co-ordination and Policies Department. Treija-Masī has also served as Deputy Director of the European Department and Director of the International Organisations and Human Rights Department. The Ambassador has been posted as First Secretary at the Embassy of Latvia in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Latvia to the European Union, as well as Representative to the EU Political and Security Committee.

Dace Treija-Masī has served as Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Latvia, and, since 2017, has been posted as Ambassador of Latvia to Japan while serving as Non-Resident Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand.

The Ambassador obtained her master's degree in political science from the University of Latvia. She speaks English, Russian, French and Japanese.

In this posting, Dace Treija-Masī succeeds Kristīne Našeniece, who had been representing Latvia's interests in Finland since 2018.
