On 21 November 2022, in an official ceremony in Dushanbe, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia, Reinis Trokša, submitted his letter of credence to the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
During his accreditation visit to Tajikistan, Reinis Trokša met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muzaffar Husseinzoda, and the Director of the Department of European and American Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sohibnazar Gayratsho, for a discussion on current bilateral relations issues.
A meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Solehzoda Ashurboy, addressed the opportunities for making use of potential for business cooperation between the two countries, including in the sectors of clean technologies, agriculture and manufacturing, as well as preparations for the next session of the Latvia-Tajikistan Joint Committee for Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
The Ambassador of Latvia, Reinis Trokša, has been residing in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, since September 2021. In his present posting, he succeeds Mihails Popokovs.
