On September 17, the Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts met with the Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov (Igor Șarov).
During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized the opportunities and scholarships provided by Latvian state for studies and research in Latvia. Both officials discussed the ability of education systems of both countries to overcome challenges caused by COVID19.
The Minister introduced the priority needs of Moldova’s education system in current circumstances, including equipping educational institutions with computers, as well as improving the computer skills of educators. Minister confirmed an interest on adopting good practices in the methodology of evaluating the students.
Both sides also touched upon possible cooperation, based on the needs of the educational system of Moldova, particularly considering Latvia's experience in providing training for students in the TV and digital environment through TavaKlase.lv.
