Latvian documentary film receives Grand Prize at multi-media festival in Poland (The Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Poland)

Today, 15 October, saw the closing of the international Multi-media Festival at the Polonia Academy in Czestochowa, Poland.

The Festival Grand Prize was received by the Latvian documentary film ADio, produced by Dace Kudina, Aija Steina-Tidrike and Peteris Tidrikis from the Ecumenical Television Channel (EKUTV). The film is dedicated to Pope John-Paul II. Second Prize in the Radio Programme category went to Irena Liegeniece from Latvijas Radio (Latvian Radio) for the programme Musu Balss (Our Voice).

Attending the Festival closing ceremony was the Latvian Ambassador to Poland, Alberts Sarkanis, who in his address noted that Latvia and Poland were linked by many years of common cultural history and common contemporary challenges. The Ambassador noted that the high regard which these awards signify represents recognition for all the Latvian cinematic and radio community.

The themes of the artistic and documentary films and radio programmes at the Festival place a fundamental emphasis on aesthetic values in the contemporary world.
