Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna met with Minister of Economy and Innovation Edvinas Grikšas

On 19 November 2025, Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna met with the Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania Edvinas Grikšas.

Minister E. Grikšas emphasized that the Baltic States need to cooperate more closely, including by organizing joint meetings of the Ministers of Economy of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Both the Minister and the Ambassador emphasized that an excellent example of cooperation between Latvia and Lithuania was the joint Baltic Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

During the meeting, the Lithuanian side invited Latvian representatives to participate in the annual largest tourism exhibition in Vilnius “Adventur 2026” at the end of January next year. Ambassador S. Silkalna informed about the annual “Nameja Award” organized by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania in cooperation with the Embassy of Latvia and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to the most successful Latvian companies in Lithuania and Lithuanian companies cooperation partners, promoting the already close economic cooperation of the two countries.
