The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following developments in Kyiv with increasing concern. The Ministry strongly condemns the escalation of violence and calls upon all the involved parties to cease it immediately thus preventing new casualties.
The only solution to the crisis in this situation is a return to a civilised dialogue. It is a legitimate and democratic process of talks between the position and the opposition, if necessary, with the involvement of international mediators such as the OSCE, the UN, the EU or others.
The Foreign Ministry regrets that people have suffered injuries and died during the clashes, and conveys condolences to the relatives of those who were wounded or lost their lives. The perpetrators must be called to justice.
