Latvia has begun legal procedures to introduce (travel restriction and asset freeze) sanctions against persons responsible for the misappropriation of Ukrainian State funds and for human rights violations.
The issue of the adoption of restrictive measures was considered at two extraordinary meetings of the Foreign Affairs Council on 20 February and 3 March addressing the situation in Ukraine, and an agreement has been achieved to swiftly work on the
adoption of restrictive measures.
