The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commends the peace plan by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The planned measures is a sound foundation for stopping violence in the east of the country. They will constitute a concrete step towards ceasing hostilities and stabilizing the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. The plan well confirms the desire and will of the Ukrainian state and its government to seek peace. It demonstrates the government's constructive efforts and consistent actions targeted at stabilizing the situation. No doubt, ensuring peace also requires constructive will and subsequent concrete actions by the neighbouring country, the Russian Federation. We repeatedly call on the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to make every effort towards the de-escalation of the ominous situation and securing true peace in Eastern Ukraine.
