Juris Kursietis' film "Oleg" was screened in Copenhagen

On 3 December 2020, the award-winning psychological drama “Oleg” by Juris Kursietis was screened at Cinemateket in Copenhagen as part of the annual film festival East by Southeast. Apart from the Danish audience, the screening was attended by the representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Latvian community in Denmark.

The film is based on the motives of a true story and depicts a young man's hopes for a better life - a man who despite the deepest abyss of his life, still finds the strength to rise above the hardships and misfortunes that he experiences as a migrant worker in the very heart of Europe - Brussels. Before the film, the audience was addressed by the Ambassador of Latvia to Denmark, Alda Vanaga, who emphasized the topicality of the film's theme in the Danish context.
