Climate and Energy Minister Raimonds Čudars in Copenhagen, Denmark for a work visit
On 2 and 3 March, the Embassy of Latvia in Denmark hosted Raimonds Čudars, the Minister for Climate and Energy of Latvia, and the leading officials of the ministry on a work visit to Copenhagen. During the visit, the minister met with his colleague, the Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities, Lars Aagaard, as well as the Deputy of the Climate, Energy and Utilities Commission of the Danish Parliament, Marianne Bigum, and the Mayor of Technical and Environmental Affairs in the City of Copenhagen, Line Barfod.
The officials mutually emphasized the great importance of regional cooperation in order to solve current energy issues in the long term. As part of the visit, the delegation visited several leading companies in Denmark, both in the field of wind energy and in the provision of efficient urban utilities, and also saw the city's first largest climate-resilient district, Klimakvarter, which is a visionary and innovative solution for a climate-friendly city of the future.
At the end of the visit, the minister met with the Director General of the Danish Energy Agency, Kristoffer Böttzauw, to discuss Denmark's experience in the field of wind energy, as well as to agree on specific steps for further cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.
