Reception for non-resident ambassadors accredited in Latvia, as well as ambassadors accredited in Denmark from Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean region and Oceania
On 2 May 2023, the Embassy in Denmark hosted a reception for non-resident ambassadors accredited in Latvia, as well as ambassadors accredited in Denmark from Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean region and Oceania, in order to promote Latvia's visibility and to inform about Latvia's candidature to the non-permanent seat of the UN Security Council for the term 2026-2027. The event also celebrated the historical events of 4 May, which was reflected, among other things, by the presentation of the book "Latvia: History and Sights" by Danish author Mads Michael Hastrup Nilsson, as well as the concert by Latvian musicians Adrija Everse and Einārs Everss, soloist of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. The musicians performed several compositions by Latvian composers, thus presenting Latvia as a country of musical traditions with a rich cultural heritage, innovative spirit and outstanding personalities.
In her address to the guests, ambassador Inga Skujiņa emphasized Latvia's contribution to ensuring peace in the world, including international missions, as well as Latvia's maturity and expertise in the field of media literacy and the fight against disinformation.
