The Embassy of Latvia organizes a piano soirée in Copenhagen

On 24 April 2024, the Embassy of Latvia in Denmark organized a concert by the "Jazz Piano Trio" led by Denmark-based Latvian jazz musician Elza Ozoliņa. Concert featured Latvian folk songs played in jazz arrangement. The concert was held at Poul Henningsens (PH) Pianos in Copenhagen, one of the most recognizable design brands in Denmark. The compositions were performed on the unique high-quality design pianos of the PH Pianos company, which are made in Latvia. The purpose of the event was to introduce representatives of the diplomatic corps, Danish businessmen and representatives of the music industry not only to Latvian music, but also to demonstrate the successful business cooperation between Latvia and Denmark.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by the Ambassador of Latvia to Denmark Inga Skujiņa and the manager and founder of PH Piano & Furniture Søren Vincent Svendsen.

In her speech, Inga Skujiņa emphasized that this evening is a confirmation that the joint work of Latvian and Danish musicians, as well as design and craftsmen, can create not only beautiful, but also lasting values. Also, the Ambassador noted the approaching celebration of 4 May and its importance in the history of Latvia. Søren Vincents Svendsen praised the skills of Latvian craftsmen who maintain the excellent quality of his company's products, which represent one of the most popular and exported design brands in Danish society.
