On 10-11 June 2026, the Latvian quantum community conducted a two-day visit to Copenhagen, organized by the Embassy of Latvia in Denmark.

The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into Denmark’s quantum ecosystem and to strengthen international partnerships aimed at enhancing regional competitiveness in advanced technologies. During the meetings, participants discussed strategic initiatives that could support the development of a joint Nordic–Baltic (New North) quantum ecosystem. Such an integrated approach would enable the region to pool resources and compete more effectively on the global stage.

The second day of the visit focused on practical aspects and commercialization. In meetings with leading Danish quantum companies, Latvian representatives explored successful examples of how high-level scientific research and laboratory discoveries are translated into real-world business products, services, and market solutions.

This visit marks an important step in strengthening excellence in both countries within the region. It also serves as a practical continuation of deepening cooperation initiated following the signing of memorandums in the quantum sector between Latvian and Danish universities.

The Embassy of Latvia in Denmark extends its gratitude to its Latvian partners - Eventech, Forse AI, the University of Latvia, LVRTC, Riga Technical University, Qubalt, and TET - as well as to its Danish partners - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Quantum Community, the University of Copenhagen, and the companies Kvantify, Quantum Machines and Sparrow Quantum - for their participation and support in organizing the visit.

The visit of the Latvian quantum community was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and the Embassy of Latvia in Denmark.
