From 6 to 9 June 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will make a working visit to the State of Israel and to Palestine.
In the State of Israel, the Foreign Minister will meet with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a discussion on Latvia-Israel bilateral relations. Cooperation between the two countries has grown more intensive over recent years, taking their relationship to a new level at the time when Latvia is celebrating its centenary and the State of Israel – the 70th anniversary of its independence.
While in Palestine, Edgars Rinkēvičs intends to meet with Foreign Minister Riyad Al Malki, with whom the possibilities of intensifying bilateral cooperation will be discussed.
Regional and international issues of current importance will also be addressed during the visit, including tension in the Middle East peace process, Iran’s nuclear programme, and Syria.
