On June 2, 2021, the Latvian Cultural Association in Israel was registered with the Israeli Ministry of Justice. The association has set itself the main goals and tasks - to introduce the Israeli society to Latvian culture and its heritage, to strengthen bilateral international relations between Latvia and Israel, and to provide support in preserving the Latvian way of life among our compatriots in Israel.

The ceremonial event of founding the Latvian Association will take place this year in the fall.

According to the official statistics (as of 01.01.2021), 4886 Latvian citizens are registered in Israel.

Greetings from H. E. Ambassador Aivars Groza to the Latvian Cultural Association in Israel:

“Hello, compatriots and friends of Latvia in Israel!

On behalf of myself and the Embassy, I would like to congratulate you on a truly historic event - the establishment of the Latvian Cultural Association in Israel.

The long cherished dream has come true!

The Latvian Cultural Society will promote not only the connection of compatriots living in the State of Israel and deeper co-operation with Latvia, but also more active co-operation between our countries in all areas. It is especially important to preserve and promote the attraction of the new generation diaspora to Latvia, to maintain our language, traditions and preserve cultural roots.

I certify that you can always count on the support of the Latvian Embassy so that you can carry out your mission in Israel. Good luck to you and the supporters of the association in your future work.

With greetings,

Aivars Groza,
Ambassador"
