Meeting of Minister of Environment of Lithuania Simonas Gentvilas with Latvian Ambassador

On 29 April 2024 Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna met with Lithuanian Minister of Environment Simonas Gentvilas. 

Minister S. Gentvilas praised the close cooperation between the neighboring countries, especially at the level of experts there is active cooperation. Ambassador S.Silkalna noted that the valuable format for cooperation is Intergovernmental Commission of Latvia and Lithuania and latest meeting was held on April 18 in Kuldīga. Representatives of the Environmental ministries also participated. During the meeting with the Ambassador, Lithuania's plans in the field of environment, development of the forest sector, as well as support for Ukraine were also discussed. Lithuania has also started preparations for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027.
