Latvia featured in a live streaming session on the e-commerce platform Pinduoduo

On June 8, Ningbo municipal government in cooperation with one of the largest e-commerce platforms in China, Pinduoduo, launched a live streaming broadcast of "Central and Eastern European countries online product fair", inviting ambassadors and counselors from 10 countries, including Latvia, to introduce their featured products. According to Pinduoduo, the live broadcast attracted more than 2 million viewers. Normally the product fair takes place in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, however this year due to the global pandemic the exhibition was moved online.

The session for Latvian products was opened with a welcome speech by the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, Maija Manika, who introduced Latvia to Pinduoduo audience, followed by the embassy’s commercial counselor, Ingus Rozenblats.

The Latvian products featured in live streaming were the paint products from Riga Varnish and Paint Factory, one of the largest manufacturers of paints in the Baltic States, and the alcoholic beverages from Latvijas Balzams, also one of the oldest and largest such producers in the Baltic States. Both of these were introduced by their respective importers in China.
