On 8 May, Ambassador Kārlis Eihenbaums, Ināra Eihenbauma and embassy staff participated with the Latvian booth in the Europe Day event at the Delegation of the European Union in Beijing.
Visitors to the Latvian booth, including Hua Chunying, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for European, Middle Eastern and Asian affairs of China, media representatives, foreign ambassadors, Chinese public officials and others, were informed about Latvia and current developments in the country. The booth offered a wide range of informational materials about Latvia, as well as Latvian products, including “Stenders”, “Laima”, “Latvijas balzams”, “Kaija”, “Cēsu alus” and others.
Visitors to the booth also showed interest in the animated film “Straume”, with which many were already familiar and had grown fond of.
Europe Day events in China are organised by the Delegation of the European Union and the embassies of the EU Member States.
The Embassy of Latvia expresses its gratitude to the distributors of the animated film “Straume” in China (Blue Media Times Cultural Development Co. Ltd.) and to the company “Stenders” for their cooperation and support.
