The President of Latvia presents credentials to the Latvian Ambassador to Moldova, Edgars Bondars
On 17 August 2023 in Riga Castle, the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, presented the letter of credence to the next Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to the Republic of Moldova, Edgars Bondars.
Since the beginning of his diplomatic career in 1994, Edgars Bondars has held posts at the Consular Legal Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Edgars Bondars has headed the International Organizations Division and held the post of Director at the First Bilateral Relations Department. From 2021 to 2023, he chaired the Secretariat for the Preparation of the Three Seas Initiative Summit.
Edgars Bondars has been posted to the Latvian embassies in the USA, Russia, and the Czech Republic. He has represented Latvia’s interests as Ambassador to Uzbekistan and Poland and as non-resident Ambassador to Tajikistan, Bulgaria, and Romania.
Ambassador Bondars has received a certificate of commendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Edgars Bondars earned his Master’s degree in Law at the University of Latvia.
Since the beginning of the current year, he has performed the duties of Ambassador-at-Large for Migration at the European Union Directorate.
