Latvia builds its relations with Ukraine on the basis of bilateral cooperation principles and Latvia’s status of an EU and NATO member. Ukraine is one of the priority countries for Latvia in the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership. Both states engage in a constructive political dialogue and develop a legal framework covering practically all fields of cooperation. Latvia actively stands up for peace in the east of Ukraine and stability in the country. Latvia, also by means of practical assistance, supports a comprehensive reform in Ukraine and its course towards integration with the European Union.
