On November 18, on the 104th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the Embassy of Latvia in Canada together with diaspora organized the way of a Latvian flag - from coast to coast. The Latvian flag was ceremoniously raised in front of the Ontario National Assembly building in Toronto. Ambassador of Latvia Kaspars Ozoliņš together with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Ontario Ted Arnott made ceremonial speeches. Representatives of Latvian organizations participated in the solemn ceremony.

In Ottawa, the flag was ceremoniously raised at the Ottawa City Hall. The diaspora, as well as representatives of the Lithuanian and Estonian embassies took part in the flag-raising ceremony. On the national holiday, red-white-red flags were also raised in other Canadian cities - Halifax, Saskatoon, Calgary, Montreal, Charlottetown, Fredericton, Guelph and Hamilton. For the fifth year, the mighty Niagara Falls has been illuminated in the colors of the Latvian flag. The Vancouver city hall and bridge, the Edmonton bridge and the sign of the city of Hamilton were bathed in the colors of the Latvian flag.

The embassy expresses its gratitude to the Latvians in Canada for their support in organizing the event!
