Documents can be sent directly to the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia. More information is available on the website of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia.
In order to submit an application at the Embassy a parent, who is a citizen of Latvia, must present the following documents:
- Both parents' passports / eID cards;
- Child's passport, if a child has a citizenship of another country;
- Child's birth certificate and certificate's translation into Latvian, English, Russian, German or French;
- The consular fee is 40,00 EUR.
In approximately 4 to 5 weeks the identity code would be granted to the child. After identity code is granted an application for a passport and/or ID card can be submitted at the Embassy.
To apply for a passport and/or ID card, presence of one parent (Citizen of Latvia) and a child is mandatory.
