The Embassy of Latvia in Turkey resumes accepting and processing of the visa applications from 1 September 2021, for all purposes of entry from Turkish Nationals and persons with permanent residence permit in Turkey.

The European Commission has recognised Covid-19 interoperable certificate of the Republic of Turkey as equivalent to the European Union Covid-19 interoperable vaccination certificate. The Turkish Covid-19 interoperable certificate holders can enter European Union and travel thought it with the same conditions as the European Union Covid-19 interoperable vaccination certificate holders. Therefore, it is possible to resume accepting visa applications.

Turkish Nationals and persons with permanent residence permit in Turkey, can submit their applications to the external service provider VFS Global offices. It is not necessary to submit a printed Covid-19 certificate with the visa application and its existence will not be verified during the examination of the visa application. However, this certificate will need to be presented upon the entry into the European Union, and each traveller is responsible for ensuring that the documents comply with the current entry conditions.
