Requesting documents from public institutions in Latvia

Please indicate on your application to the relevent public insitution of Latvia if your document will need to be legalized for the use abroad. The document will then be forwarded to the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia for legalization and then it will be forwarded to the diplomatic/ consular mission of the person's country of residence.

  • Ministry of Justice (a certificate concerning judgments in matrimonial matters specified in the Article 39 of Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003)

  • Sworn Notary (judgement on divorce if marriage is dissolved at a sworn notary. Please then contact the respective sworn notary who dissolved the marriage)
 
  • Court  (judgements on divorce, if marriage is dissolved at court. Please then contact the respective court where the marriage was dissolved).

Apostille

Please indicate on your application to the revelent public institution of Latvia if your document will need to be legalized or certified with Apostille.  Your document will then be forwarded to a sworn notary in Latvia.

Legalization

Your document that needs to be legalized will be forwarded to the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for legalization and then it will be forwarded to the diplomatic/ consular mission in the person's country of residence.

  • a consular fee for the forwarding of documents of 40 EUR.
