References and statements

At the diplomatic and consular missions of Latvia, Latvian nationals can request statements and references on the basis of data from the Population Register, Road Traffic Safety Directorate (the CSDD), the Punishment Register. A person is entitled to request a reference about themselves, their minor children or a deceased relative, or a person under their guardianship or curatorship.

The service is available to persons who reside abroad permanently and have indicated their place of residence abroad in the Latvian Population Register.

Visitors seeking the service at diplomatic and consular missions are received by prior appointment only. Please arrange your visit by contacting the diplomatic/consular mission.
