In order to obtain a Schengen visa, the third country national presents a valid travel medical insurance policy valid in all Schengen Member States. The policy should have the minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR, and cover the costs of urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment in case of an illness, as well as repatriation in the event of death.
If the third country national will enter Latvia one or two times, the applicant shall present a travel medical insurance policy covering the whole period of stay.
Applicants for a multiple-entry visa shall prove that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit
In order to receive a long-stay visa, the third country national presents a travel medical insurance policy valid in Latvia and throughout the territory of the Schengen Member States. The policy should have the minimum coverage of 42 600 EUR and cover the costs of urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment in case of an illness, as well as repatriation in the event of death.
