The Embassy of Latvia in Türkiye resumes accepting and processing of the visa applications from 1 September 2021, for all purposes of entry from Turkish Nationals and persons with permanent residence permit in Turkey.
The European Commission has recognised Covid-19 interoperable certificate of the Republic of Turkey as equivalent to the European Union Covid-19 interoperable vaccination certificate. The Turkish Covid-19 interoperable certificate holders can enter European Union and travel thought it with the same conditions as the European Union Covid-19 interoperable vaccination certificate holders. Therefore, it is possible to resume accepting visa applications.
Turkish Nationals and persons with permanent residence permit in Turkey, can submit their applications to the external service provider VFS Global offices. It is not necessary to submit a printed Covid-19 certificate with the visa application and its existence will not be verified during the examination of the visa application. However, this certificate will need to be presented upon the entry into the European Union, and each traveller is responsible for ensuring that the documents comply with the current entry conditions.
Only persons who comply with the categories of essential travellers described in the Cabinet Regulations No.360 “Epidemiological safety measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection”, dated 9 June 2020, can enter without a certificate. Documents supporting the purpose of travel will needed to be presented at the entry point.
In the view of the expected significant demand and the limited recourses of the Embassy in processing applications, the Embassy is forced to determine the number of applications to be accepted on a daily basis. Therefore, all type visa applications have to be submitted to the VFS Global offices with taking a prior appointment. You are kindly requested to contact the nearest VFS Global office to find out the closest appointment day for submitting your application, as well as the to plan the submission of the application in time before the planned trip.
