The Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Türkiye is announcing a consular secretary vacancy (full-time position)
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school or higher education;
- Excellent command of English (C1) and Turkish (C1 or native)– both oral and written. Knowledge of Latvian language will be regarded as an advantage;
- IT proficiency and solid skills regarding the Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.;
- Punctuality. Displays personal integrity and an honest and ethical approach. Ability to handle stressful situations;
- Previous experience in a similar position at foreign diplomatic or consular representation will be regarded as an advantage.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Carries out duties of the front desk, specially: answers inquiries, both via e-mail and via phone, on a daily basis, receives and directs correspondence;
- Drafts projects of correspondence in English and Turkish;
- Provides unofficial written and spoken translations from English/Turkish and Turkish/English;
- Assists with data entry for various internal systems;
- Works with social media and website update on a timely basis;
- Organizes Embassy’s social and culture events;
- Replaces Embassy’s secretary;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
