Entry into Latvia

As of 1 February 2018 the Embassy of Latvia in the United Arab Emirates accepts applications for short term “C”  and long trem "D" visas to Latvia from all citizens and residents of the Gulf countries (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar).  As well as, citizens of Pakistan can submit National visa applicaitons (type D). All applications should be submitted at the VFS Global office.

Visa applications submitted through VFS Global will be processed by the Consular Section of the Embassy within 15 days from the date of receipt. In case of additional verification, the Embassy may extend the processing time for up to  45 days for Schengen visa applications, 60 days for National visa applications.

Visa applications can be submitted at the VFS Global. To apply for Schengen visa or National visa you will need to book an appointment with VFS. Visa applications can be submitted without a prior appointment if the main purpose of the journey is to visit relatives or friends or if you have received a positive residence permit decision from the OCMA.

RESIDENCE PERMITS

A residence permit is a document providing a foreigner the rights to reside in the Republic of Latvia for a definite period of time (a temporary residence permit) or permanently (a permanent residence permit). A residence permit is necessary if you are willing to reside in the Republic of Latvia for a period of time exceeding 90 days within half a year counting from the first day of entrance

A residence permit is issued by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs in Latvia (OCMA, http://www.pmlp.gov.lv/en/home/services/residence-permits/doc2/)

ONLY citizens and residents of the Gulf countries (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar) and Pakistan can apply for a residence permit at the Embassy of Latvia in the United Arab Emirates.
