On 20 April 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will welcome the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, in Riga on a bilateral visit, which will be followed by a meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic States and the German Federal Foreign Minister to discuss on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the security situation in the region.
During her visit, the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, is to meet with the Prime Minister of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš, and the Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, Jānis Sārts.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host a press conference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock. Later in the afternoon, a joint press conference of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic States and Germany will take place at Mazā Ģilde (Small Guild).
Both press conferences will be live streamed online on the Foreign Ministry’s website and its Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
