Ambassador meets with Minister of Finance of Lithuania Gintarė Skaistė

On 29 April 2024 Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna met with the Minister of Finance of Lithuania Gintarė Skaistė.

Minister G. Skaistė acknowledged the close cooperation with Latvia and emphasized the need to strengthen the sanctions against Russia and Belarus, as well as to find solutions for the use of frozen Russian assets for the reconstruction of Ukraine in the near future. During the meeting with the Ambassador, issues in the financial field in Lithuania were discussed, including the formation of the defense budget. Ambassador S. Silkalna informed about Latvia's experience in defense budget planning.
