Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna meets with Vice-Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania

On 19 June 2024, Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna met with Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Economy and Innovation Karolis Žemaitis.

Vice-Minister of Economy and Innovation emphasized that Lithuania and Latvia are strategic partners in all areas, and the closest cooperation is in the field of tourism. During the meeting, tourism, trade, export, and sanctions issues were discussed with the Ambassador. K. Žemaitis also emphasized that Lithuania is looking forward to see a wider representation of Latvia in the exhibitions and various events held in Lithuania.  Ambassador shared the view that Latvia also sees the potential for closer cooperation with Lithuania not only in traditional areas of cooperation, but also in sectors with high added value. We have many good examples of cooperation, for example, a joint pavilion next year at EXPO 2025 in Japan.
