Summer Solstice Celebration at the Embassy

The traditional Midsummer celebration took place at the Embassy on June 20 — the day of the summer solstice. The event gathered quite a number of Latvians living in Lithuania and their families. Voice improvisation artist Dana Indāne-Surkiene performed master classes, which gave the attendees an opportunity to learn traditional summer solstice folk songs and reminded about rituals and customs, solved riddles and played games, as well as lit a bonfire, which helped create a true Midsummer atmosphere.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia from the funding of the diaspora support project programme.
