Minister of Finance Arvils Ašeradens visits Embassy

On 28-29 July 2025, Minister of Finance Arvils Ašeradens participated in the meeting of the Baltic and German Ministers of Finance in Vilnius. Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna participated in the Latvian Delegation.

Baltic and German Ministers of Finance discussed many issues, including the European Commission's proposal for a long-term budget for the European Union. During the meeting, Baltic States and Germany reaffirmed their support for Ukraine and its fight against the aggressor, emphasizing the importance of this support not only for the security of Ukraine, but also for the security of the whole of Europe. At the end of the meeting, the Baltic Ministers of Finance signed a joint letter to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, calling for continued and expanded cooperation to strengthen the regional capital market.

Minister of Finance also visited the Embassy and met with Embassy staff.
