Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna visits the Port of Klaipėda

On 30 July 2025, Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna visited Klaipėda and, together with the representative of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lithuania - Jeļena Markūne, visited the Port of Klaipėda.

Algis Latakas, Director General of the Port of Klaipėda, introduced Ambassador S. Silkalna and the representative of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lithuania, J. Markūne, to the current affairs and development plans of the port. The Port of Klaipėda is overcoming the challenges caused by geopolitical and climate change by diversifying and expanding the range of services.  Ambassador expressed gratitude that cruise ship traffic in the region is increasing, attracting guests to both Klaipėda and Riga.
