Baltic and Nordic Ambassadors met with Vaidotas Urbelis, Political Director of the Ministry of Defence of Lithuania

On 22 April 2026, Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna hosted a meeting of the Nordic and Baltic ambassadors to Lithuania with Vaidotas Urbelis, Political Director of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, at the Embassy of Latvia.

V. Urbelis and Ambassadors of Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark to Lithuania, and deputy ambassadors discussed the security situation in the region, domestic political developments in Lithuania, the progress of the deployment of the German brigade in Lithuania, and expressed their unwavering support for Ukraine.

The Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) is a regional cooperation format of like-minded countries, which includes Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
