Request for criminal records check

The criminal records check from the Punishment Register of the Republic of Latvia can be requested directly from the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior. For detailed information please see here

Alternatively, the criminal records check can be requested via the Embassy by post. In such case an additional consular fee of 55.00 EUR is applied and thus the consular fees are as follows:

  • 71.80 EUR for the certificate to be issued within five business days;
  • 88.60 EUR for the certificate to be issued within the next business day.

To request the criminal records check via the Embassy, please submit to the following documents to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Latvia (address: Grove House, 248A Marylebone Road, London, NW1 6JF, United Kingdom):

  • a copy of the person's passport with the following text on it "I, Name, Surname, agree that my data will be used in the process of my criminal records check" with a date and your signature;
  • Application Form

After the receipt of documents mentioned above, the invoice with the relevant payment details will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the person’s Application Form. Please note that as of 2021 Postal Orders are no longer accepted. 

Consular services are provided only after all necessary documents are received at the Embassy’s Consular Section and payment has been received in the Consular Fees Account. The delivery by post will take additional time.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data (given name, surname, personal identity number and other personal data indicated in the form) is Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation. The legal obligation of diplomatic and consular missions of Latvia abroad is to process personal data in accordance with Cabinet Regulation No. 563 of 23.09.2014 "Regulations Regarding the Provision and Receipt of Information from the Punishment Register, the Amount of the State Fee and the Requirements for drawing up a statement".
