According to the Law on the Register of Natural Persons there is an obligation to notify the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of your and your children’s address of residence abroad. It is also necessary to notify within 30 days if the address of foreign residence has been changed.
The place of residence can be updated in one of the following ways:
- electronically via portal www.latvija.lv;
- using the official electronic eAddress;
- providing information in person or sending an application by post to the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs. More detailed information can be found here;
- in personat the Embassy of Latvia in the Netherlands. From January 1, 2025, a consular fee of EUR 50,00 must be paid when submitting information about residence abroad through the Latvian Embassy in the Netherlands.
