Meeting with the Indo-Baltics Parliamentary Friendship Group
On 11 August, the Embassy of Lithuania hosted Hon’ble Members of Parliament and members of the Indo-Baltics Parliamentary Friendship Group for an informal evening bringing together Indian parliamentarians and and Head of Mission of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The Latvian Embassy was represented by Ms Inga Skruzmane, Charge d'affairs.
Over high tea and an open, conversational discussion, Baltic diplomats introduced the three Baltic countries and reflected on our growing political, commercial and cultural relations with India. The informal format provided an opportunity for Hon’ble Members of Parliament to ask questions, exchange views and discuss areas where India and the Baltic countries can further strengthen parliamentary and bilateral cooperation.
The Indo-Baltics Parliamentary Friendship Group is established for the first time and shows a growing interest of India in the Baltic region. Each convocation of the Latvian Parliament (Saeima) does have the Indo-Latvian Friendship group.
