Regional visit to Assam

From 5 to 7 September, Ms Inga Skrūzmane, Chargé d’Affaires of Latvia, paid a visit to the state of Assam.

During the visit, the deans and academic staff of Assam Down Town University were presented with an overview of Latvia-India cooperation in the field of education, as well as information on collaboration between Latvian and Indian higher education institutions within the framework of the ERASMUS projects for the period 2023-2027. Currently, several Latvian universities are cooperating with Indian higher education institutions through ERASMUS projects. Assam Down Town University is preparing to submit five project applications for ERASMUS funding for the next financial period and is actively seeking cooperation partners within the European Union.

An exhibition on the history of Latvia was inaugurated at the University’s student residence to familiarize students and academic staff with the most significant events of the Latvian history.

On 7 September, together with other foreign diplomats and distinguished guests, Ms Skrūzmane attended the celebrations marking the 17th anniversary of the University’s fondation, where students were addressed and congratulated with this important event.
