A new Bureau of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will be elected at its 59th Session in Nairobi, Kenya from 25 to 28 July.
Latvia has nominated Dr. Zinta Zommers for the position of the Vice-Chair of the Working Group II (WGII) – Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability.
Dr. Zinta Zommers is the lead for climate science at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, where she works to reduce the impacts of climate shocks on vulnerable communities. She is experienced contributor to IPCC - lead author, review editor, and Scientific Steering Committee member.
