Ambassador Reinis Brusbārdis discusses the development of hydrogen technologies in the Baltic region
On July 7, Latvia's Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union, Reinis Brusbārdis, and the representative of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), Egita Aizsilniece-Ibema, met with the leadership of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership JU (CHP JU), Valerie Bouillon Delporte and Mirela Atanasiu. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ongoing cooperation with Latvia, as well as the future development and promotion of hydrogen technologies in the Baltic States.
To date, the CHP JU has supported nine projects involving Latvian participants, with a total budget of 1.8 million euros. This partnership is the only joint initiative between the industry and the European Commission related to the energy sector. Since 2008, it has invested a total of 2 billion euros in European Union funds to develop hydrogen technologies across Europe.
