Film "Soviet Milk" at the European Union Film Festival in India

The Latvian film “Soviet Milk" was screened in India as part of the 30th European Union Film Festival in India.

Directed by Ināra Kolmane, the film is based on the novel of famous Latvian writer Nora Ikstena. "Soviet Milk" tells the story of a doctor punished for her courage and her daughter forces to grow up too soon. 

The screening of “Soviet Milk” took place in Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.  At the screening of the movie in Delhi, at Goethe Institute, H.E. Ambassador of Latvia Mr. Juris Bone touched upon the painful pages of the Latvian history under the Soviet occupation. 

The European Union Film Festival in India is an annual cultural event that offers the latest European films to the Indian audience.
