Latvian Honorary Consul in Bengaluru receives a Recognition Certificate

On March 16, Latvian Ambassador to India H.E. Juris Bone granted a Recognition Certificate of the Latvian Foreign Minister Ms Baiba Braže to the longtime serving Latvian Honorary Consul in Karnataka state, Mr Kumara Swamy Palani Balasubramaniam. The Recognition Certificate was presented at the ceremony attended by members of the Honorary Consul's family and the Latvian embassy staff. The Honorary Consul, upon receiving the Recognition Certificate, expressed his gratitude for the high award and fthe appreciation of his work.

The Honorary Consul is an active promoter of Latvia-India bilateral relations. In March 2025, during a working visit to India by Foreign Minister Baiba Brazzis, the Honorary Consul organised a contact exchange between Latvian business delegation and Indian partners. The Honorary Consul facilitated the organisation of bilateral meetings between Minister Braže and senior officials of Karnataka State and the representatives of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation).

The Latvian Honorary Consul Mr Balasubramaniam has been appointed in his postion since February 2015. The Honorary Consulate is located in the city of Bengaluru.
