The Latvian Embassy in the Czech Republic is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for the position of a local staff member as a "house manager/driver" on an indefinite basis following a probationary period. The anticipated commencement of duties is scheduled for this spring.
Qualifications for Applicants:
- Possession of secondary education;
- Proficiency in English at a minimum level of B2 (proficiency in Czech and/or Latvian will be considered advantageous);
- Acquaintance with household management practices;
- Holding a Category B driver's license;
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and upkeep;
- Strong planning and organizational skills;
- An impeccable reputation.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent communication abilities, a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, proficiency with computers and office equipment, as well as the ability to work effectively in teams and under pressure. Previous experience in a similar role will be viewed favourably.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Conducting technical maintenance of the embassy building, including necessary cosmetic repairs, and ensuring the timely maintenance or replacement of all building equipment, communications, and fixtures;
2. Maintenance and upkeep of the embassy garden;
3. Assisting in the organization of embassy events and visits;
4. Serving as a driver for the ambassador and, when required, for embassy diplomats;
5. Ensuring the visual and technical upkeep of embassy vehicles;
6. Fulfilling courier duties;
7. Managing procurement activities to support embassy operations;
8. Addressing municipal and administrative-economic matters with relevant municipal and service departments within one's scope of authority;
9. Coordinating cleaning activities within embassy premises and surrounding areas.
Employment contracts for local staff will be in accordance with Czech regulations. Please note that accommodation is not provided by the embassy.
During the probationary period, the starting net salary is 41,475.00 CZK.
