On 11 November 2021, the Remembrance Day, His Excellency Ambassador Kārlis Eihenbaums and Defence Attaché Colonel Igors Kļaviņš laid a wreath on behalf of Latvia and the Embassy of Latvia at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, paying homage to those who have given their lives in service of peace.
Today and every day, we have a sacred obligation not only to remember all who served, but to protect and honour what they fought for.
We pause. We remember. Those who gave their tomorrows for our today. Forever in our thoughts. Forever in our hearts.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
