On November 24, in the Sir John A. Macdonald building of the Parliament of Canada, the Embassy held a reception celebrating the 104th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, which was attended by more than 400 guests, including members of the Canadian government, senators, members of the Canadian Parliament, diplomats, partners and representatives of the Latvian diaspora.

The guests were greeted by Latvian Ambassador Kaspars Ozoliņš and Parliamentary Secretary of the Canadian Ministry of Defense Brian May. The reception was organized in cooperation with Canadian Defense Minister Anita Ananda, the Latvian Ministry of Defense and the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA).

During the reception, the guests had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the exhibition dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the NATO eFP battle group in Latvia. The embassy had also prepared Latvian national dishes, such as meat patties and festive pretzels, as well as Riga black balsam.
